Coming in 2007: A new library In 1940, the new Mowglis library was dedicated in memory of Robert C. Blake (‘35). Although the library received occasional gifts of new books over the years, most of the current book inventory harkens back to those early days. The late Melissa Bowne Gulitti, a former trustee and mother of camper Jay Gulitti (Den ‘06) recognized the need to modernize the library, and shortly before her unexpected death in 2005 she took on that project. Thanks to the commitment of her husband, Joseph Gulitti, the project remained active, and on Crew Day this summer we will gather to rededicate the modernized library in Melissa’s memory. Over the course of last summer, Trustee Diana Beeton (a librarian for the Fairfield, CT school district) worked with Joseph and Jay to identify and purchase nearly 600 new books.
